Using it for hair loss is off-label, which means the FDA has not approved it for that use; whether it is appropriate for you is a decision your provider makes from your intake.

This is not for everyone
Only a licensed provider can decide whether this treatment is appropriate for you. This oral treatment is for men. Women who are or may become pregnant must not take it or handle the capsules, especially if they are leaking, because it can cause birth defects in a male baby. Not for anyone under 18. Tell your provider about liver disease, prostate symptoms or a prostate cancer screening, and any history of depression.
Serious risks
Some men report decreased sex drive, erection or ejaculation problems. Mood changes have been reported: tell your provider if you notice them. Report any breast lumps, pain, tenderness or nipple discharge. This medication lowers the PSA blood-test result, so tell any doctor screening your prostate that you take it. Because it stays in the body a long time, do not donate blood while taking it or for six months after your last dose.
Common side effects
Decreased sex drive, erection or ejaculation problems, and breast tenderness or enlargement, usually mild.
Combining treatments
Adding treatments at the same time makes it harder to tell which one is working and which one is causing a side effect. A provider will usually ask you to stage them, starting one and adding the next at a follow-up. If you add another treatment to your plan, its own safety information applies as well.
