Hair loss treatment for men

Panterra connects men with licensed U.S. providers online for prescription hair loss treatment through Kalos, including finasteride, an FDA-approved daily tablet for male pattern hair loss. A provider reviews your health history before anything is prescribed, and each treatment has one price per refill, with no membership required to be a patient. Anyone who is or may become pregnant should not handle these medications.

How it works

  1. You complete a health intake online.
  2. A licensed U.S. provider reviews your information.
  3. If a treatment is appropriate for you, the provider issues a prescription.
  4. Your medication ships to you, and follow-ups are included in the price.

If treatment is not appropriate, the provider will tell you and may suggest other options. A prescription is never guaranteed.

What it costs

Each treatment has one price per refill that includes the medication, your provider, follow-ups, and shipping, with no membership required to be a patient. The provider consultation fee is part of that price and is itemized before you pay. Current prices are listed above and on each treatment page.

Common questions

How much does hair loss treatment cost?

Each treatment has one price per refill that includes the medication, your provider, follow-ups, and shipping, with no membership required to be a patient. The provider consultation fee is part of that price and is itemized before you pay. Current prices are listed on this page and on each treatment page.

Is finasteride FDA-approved?

Yes. Finasteride is FDA-approved for male pattern hair loss. Dutasteride, which is coming soon, is FDA-approved for an enlarged prostate, and using it for hair loss is off-label, a decision your provider makes with you.

How long until I see results?

Hair treatment is slow. It usually takes three to six months of daily use to judge whether it is working, and the benefit generally lasts only while you keep taking it. Results vary, and treatment is not a cure.

Is hair loss treatment available for women?

Not at this time. Hair loss treatment through Panterra is currently offered for men through Kalos. The medications offered are prescribed for men and must not be handled by anyone who is or may become pregnant.

Important safety information

Prescription required. These medications are available only with a prescription from a licensed provider after an evaluation. This is a summary, not the full prescribing information; each treatment page carries its own safety details.

Finasteride

Who should not use it. Only a licensed provider can decide whether this treatment is appropriate for you. This oral treatment is for men. Women who are or may become pregnant must not take it or handle crushed or broken tablets, because it can cause birth defects in a male baby. Not for anyone under 18. Tell your provider about liver disease, prostate symptoms or a prostate cancer screening, and any history of depression.

Serious risks. Some men report decreased sex drive, erection or ejaculation problems; in a small number these have continued after stopping. Depression, mood changes and suicidal thoughts have been reported: tell your provider straight away if you notice them. Report any breast lumps, pain, tenderness or nipple discharge. This medication roughly halves the PSA blood-test result, so tell any doctor screening your prostate that you take it.

About this medication. This treatment is an FDA-approved generic medication dispensed by a licensed pharmacy. Approval covers the medication itself; whether it is appropriate for you is a decision your provider makes from your intake.

Because it stays in the body a long time, do not donate blood while taking it or for six months after your last dose.

About this medication. This medication is FDA-approved for an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and is dispensed by a licensed pharmacy.
