For Hormone balance care. A summary, not the complete list of risks. A provider reviews the full information with you before anything is prescribed.
This is not for everyone
Only a licensed provider can decide whether hormone therapy is appropriate for you, and only after a lab panel. It is not for women with unexplained vaginal bleeding, a history of breast or uterine cancer, blood clots, stroke or heart attack, liver disease, or known pregnancy.
Serious risks
Hormone therapy carries boxed warnings: increased risks of stroke, blood clots, heart attack, breast cancer and, when oestrogen is taken without a progestogen, uterine cancer. Seek care for chest pain, shortness of breath, leg pain or swelling, sudden severe headache, vision or speech changes, or a breast lump.
Common side effects
Breast tenderness, headache, nausea, bloating, spotting, mood changes and fluid retention.
About this treatment
The form your provider prescribes may be an FDA-approved medication or a compounded preparation. Compounded hormones are not FDA-approved and do not undergo FDA review for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing quality.
